In the current Health-related Fitness unit, students defined what it means to be fit and healthy in their own words. They are learning about the importance of regular exercise, hydration, nutrition, and rest in leading healthy lifestyles.
Grade 4 and 5 students are also exploring the following components of fitness:
- cardiorespiratory fitness
- muscular endurance
- flexibility
They are working on improving each component by applying basic training principles and keeping a Fitness Journal in which they record their physical activity.
