Swimming has got off to a great start this year! Students have been enjoying their time in the water and sunshine.
This week, students are learning about water safety including safe entry and exit and appropriate practices in and around the pool area. In groups, students are working on correct breathing technique, kicking, and arm action.
Yesterday, a group of G5 students practiced watching their peers and giving feedback on technique. Practicing the stroke helps them to develop their skills, but observing others also gives them additional opportunities to learn.
The focus for this unit are the attributes of Inquirers and Risk-takers. Students are working on their self-management skills while in the pool, specifically with regard to safety and time management.
